SHOCK RESISTANT, HIGH TEMPERATURE EPOXY ADHESIVE FOR SAMARIUM-COBALT MAGNETS FOR DIESEL INJECTOR SPRING SEATS
META-LINK™ 361 is a shock-resistant epoxy adhesive system specifically designed to chemically ” weld” diverse hard-to-bond substrates to withstand the thermal and mechanical shock of high temperature corrosive environments.
META-LINK™ 361 couples superior chemical resistance to diesel fuels and hydrocarbon solvents with good thermal conductivity and high temperature adhesive strength.
META-LINK™ 361 is especially suitable for bonding a fragile pressed powder samarium-cobalt magnet to the steel spring seat of an oscillating diesel fuel injector. These magnets function as the central “sensor-link” of a newly developed operational magneto-static Hall-Effect magnetic field sensor. This unique sensor now provides a practical economical method for the precision control of the fuel , supply of a diesel engine by microprocessor.*

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE:
Surface Preparation –No special surface preparation is required. Lightly abraded steel and degrease both surfaces of steel and magnet and taking care that surfaces are free of particles of metal. Insure that no free particles remain on surface of the magnet by testing with transparent pressure sensitive tape.
Adhesive Preparation –Mix equal parts, by weight, of META-LINK™ 361 adhesive. Pre-warming is permissible up to 65°C to facilitate application by automatic dispensers.
After mixed adhesive is applied, cure the assemblies for 2 hours at 120°C. A post cure of one hour at l50°C is recommended to maximize properties.
APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR MAGNETS TO INJECTOR SPRING SEATS:
Apply META-LINK™ 361 mixture in a mound to magnet or steel injector spring seat so that the material partially covers the side of the magnet when the magnet is pressed in place (see diagram). This protects the magnet and prevents crumbling or shattering of the somewhat fragile magnetics. Cure the adhesive as directed in “Curing Instructions” above.
META-LINK™ 361 is also supplied in pre-weighed Metre-Mix™ Duo packs for easy mixing and dispensing.

Store in tightly sealed containers in a dry location at or below normal room temperature. Do not store at temperatures over 37°C. Do not leave containers open. The shelf life is six months only when stored in unopened containers at 25°C.

Fully cured META-LINK™ 361 may be dissolved with Metastrip DP-705 or Metastrip 701. Refer to Data Bulletin for Metastrip DP-705 entitled, “Powerful Epoxy Stripper for Removal of Cured Epoxy Resins” and Data Bulletin for Metastrip 701 entitled, “Powerful, Non-Corrosive Stripping Solvent for Cured Epoxy, Polyester, Polyurethane and Similar Resins”.
Prolonged or frequent skin contact with uncured META-LINK™ 361 may cause dermatitis. Good industrial hygiene practices should be observed when working with this system. In case of accidental skin contact, wash affected area with soap and water. In case of eye contact, flush eyes thoroughly with water. Contaminated clothing should not be worn until it has been thoroughly cleaned.
